Word of mouth is a huge part of my business and is the best compliment that I can receive as a personal trainer. While many individuals choose to hire me as a personal trainer because of my qualifications, education and numerous certifications, my excellent track record of helping people drastically transform their bodies is the reason why my services are in such high demand. I was referred to Boyd by a close friend that had been using his services with great results. I had watched her drastic transformation and was immediately intrigued. I was at a breaking point and had very little faith that I was capable of doing what I needed to do to change my body. I had been active my entire life, but now as a new mother with a stressful job and seemingly no time, I had worked with other trainers in the past with marginal success. This is my client Courtney, who has been working with me for just over a year. Below is her video and then her written testimonial, neither of which I can come close to doing justice by commenting on them. Courtney, you’ve been amazing to work with and I’m so very proud of the progress you have made. You’ve been a model client from the start, and an inspiration to everyone that has watched your progress.

Courtney’s written testimonial:
I started training with Boyd 4 weeks to the day after my third baby was born. I was almost 40% body fat with no athletic experience, and desperately wanting to be the girl I always admired in my thin, healthy friends. The first day I consulted with him, I could see in his eyes that he already saw me as that girl. He was the first person to look at me for who I could be, and all he needed to do was take my motivation and combine it with his abundant knowledge of fitness and nutrition. He knew what I didn’t, that all of my goals were achievable with a little determination and a lot of sweat.

Over a year later, I’m down to 16% body fat and I can do things I’d never dreamed of. I couldn’t do one body squat before, now I squat with 45 lb plates on each side of the bar. I couldn’t do a lunge, now I can do 60 each leg in one set. I can leg press over 300 lbs. More importantly, I can wear shorts. I can smile at myself in the mirror. Client Video – Andy Dead Lifting.

Here’s a video of my client Andy dead lifting 225 for 12 reps at 170lbs of bodyweight. The impressive thing? He couldn’t do one single solitary push up. Not even ONE. He seriously struggled with bodyweight squats when he first started! Here are some pics of him when he first started… He’s down 50lbs and more than 10″ on his abdominal circumference.

REAL Client Progress!

Hey San Antonio,

Just wanted to give a little credit to a client who is absolutely killing it!

Rey started training with me three weeks ago today. The first thing he told me was that he’s ready to do whatever it takes and will follow my directions to an absolute “T”. He did, and in three weeks he has dropped 3 3/4 inches off his waist. I have him doing nothing drastic, he doesn’t starve, and he isn’t spending hours on a cardio machine. He does work his ass off when he’s working out (quality over quantity) and does exactly what he’s supposed to do in the kitchen.

Rey, this is just the beginning – be proud of what you have accomplished, and be excited for the progress you’re going to make. When you’re down ten inches in the abdominal circumference (in a few weeks), this will seem like it was a decade ago, but it will happen before you know it!

From Struggling With a Few Bodyweight Squats to This…

A video of my client Chade with 700lbs on the leg press. A few months ago, one plate on each side was enough to burn him out. Now? The machine is completely full – his body fat keeps going lower and lower, while his abs become more and more visible.

Way to go Chade, great work (note – his workout partner Andy duplicated the feat with a set of his own for 20 reps)!

Big and Bulky? Absolutely Not!!!

Hey San Antonio,

Here’s another impressive bit of strength from a workout today.

First is Kwani deadlifting 185lbs. She is by NO MEANS big and bulky (by the way, this was more than 40 minutes into the workout…)

Second vid is a couple of reps of squats for 135 reps (bottomed on the safety rails on the last rep) and then 3 chin ups. For the record, the machine she is squatting on is not a typical smith machine – it has front to back movement (as well as vertical movement).

Are You Wasting Your Time With Worthless Exercises? Julie Isn’t.

Hey San Antonio,

Just took this video of my client Julie performing dead lifts with her body weight (135lbs). She has only been deadlifting for just over two weeks, which makes this video more impressive. She’s an elementary school teacher, and I’m sure that 135lbs is more than most of her kids way (students beware!). This video was filmed on my webcam, so I apologize for the quality.

And for those women who are worried about getting big and bulky? Julie is rapidly dropping body fat and is looking more and more defined week after week, NOT getting big and bulky by any means!

If your personal trainer has you doing isolation exercise after isolation exercise, followed by a few little machines and maybe some assistance work, you’re being ripped off. Of course, you have to crawl before you walk, but hopefully, your personal trainer has developed a program that focuses on compound exercises that improve functionality and overall strength.

Stop wasting your time – there’s a reason it’s called WORKING out!
